Kettlebells

We are a big believer in using proper programming to build strength and maximum power in a safe and efficient manner. This means that we break each kettlebell class down into four different components.

  1. Dynamic Movements, Floor Exercises
  2. Technique
  3. Strength
  4. Conditioning/Complexes

The specific breakdown of these kettlebell classes allows the coach to watch each member’s form to ensure that they are safely performing each exercise. We want to ensure that people are bettering themselves, not setting themselves up for injury. It also allows the coach to observe and adapt to everyone’s skill level with a kettlebell.

Kettlebells are a fantastic way to learn basic human movement patterns; hinging, squats, pressing, etc.  As strength is not built bilaterally, kettlebell classes are a great way to teach an individual to build equal strength through the body over time. Improving overall muscle strength will also help stabilize joints, open up mobility, burn more calories, and help to improve overall bone density.

One of the best things about kettlebell workouts is that anyone can utilize a kettlebell. If you are new to weight training, kettlebells are a great starting point. Exercises can easily be progressed and regressed as needed. If you are an advanced weight lifter or athlete, kettlebells are a perfect addition to your overall program. Variations of common exercises can be made more difficult by utilizing a kettlebell instead of a barbell or machine.
